	The THE Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), ANNOUNCES A Public Information Meeting TO WHICH ALL PERSONS ARE INVITED. announces a public meeting to which all persons are invited.

DATE AND TIME:	Monday, September 11, 2023, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

PLACE:	The in-person session will be at the FDOT Broward Operations Auditorium, located at 5548 NW 9th Ave, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33309. Subject:	Financial Management No: 441759-1-52-01 Project Description: Rail Traffic Monitoring Improvements Project at five State Road Crossings, Broward County, Florida The project improvements consist of installing train detection systems at the Florida East Coast (FEC) Railroad crossings located at the SR 816/Oakland Park Boulevard, SR 838/Sunrise Boulevard, SR 84/Marina Mile Boulevard from SR 9/I-95 to SR 5/US 1, SR 824/Pembroke Road, and SR 858/Hallandale Beach Boulevard intersections. Installing fiber optic cable, overhead dynamic message signs and other Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) devices on SR 84 between SR 9/I-95 and SR 5/US 1. Additional improvements along SR 84 will include installing of: microwave vehicle detection system (MVDS) in the vicinity of the FEC railway that will be connected to existing ITS cabinets at each of these corridors; new FDOT fiber optic cable from SR 9/I-95 to SR 5/US 1; arterial dynamic message signs (ADMS), CCTV cameras, and Bluetooth devices. Construction will begin in September 2023 and is estimated to be completed in early 2024. The estimated construction cost is $3.0 million. The Construction Open House will be held virtually and in person. The virtual public meeting will be held from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. with a brief presentation followed by questions and comments from the public. The in-person open house will be held from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. and will have an informal open house format. FDOT staff and consultant staff members will be available to discuss the project and answer questions.
