Overview



	The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) announces a hearing to which all persons are invited.

DATE AND TIME:	Tuesday, October 3, 2023 starting at 5 p.m.

Subject:	The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) invites you to a public hearing for the SR 70 Median Modification Safety Improvements in Manatee County on Tuesday, October 3, 2023. This study will evaluate median modifications to SR 70 E at 66th St E, 24th St E, and 18th St Blvd E to address safety. This hearing is being conducted to present the median modifications and to give interested persons an opportunity to express their views concerning the safety improvements. You can participate live online or in-person. The information presented during either format will be the same and all attendees will have opportunity to comment. Participate in the October 3, 2023 public hearing: In-Person Option: at Manatee Technical College, Wagner Auditorium, 6305 FL-70, Bradenton, FL 34203 Anytime between 5 – 6 p.m. Open house 6 p.m. Formal presentation and comment Displays will be available starting at 5 p.m. to review at your own pace and the formal presentation will begin at 6 p.m. The project team will be available for discussion. Live Online Option: starting at 5:45 p.m. at http://bitly.ws/P7nb (please register in advance) Materials will be posted by October 2nd, 2023 on the project webpage. If you are unable to attend the hearing, comments can also be provided through the project webpage (https://www.swflroads.com/project/000007-1) or by email (Tim.Horst@dot.state.fl.us) or mail (FDOT District One, Attn: Tim Horst, 801 N. Broadway Ave., Bartow, FL 33830). While comments about the project are accepted at any time, they must be received or postmarked by October 13, 2023, to be included in the formal hearing record. All comments are weighted equally. Questions can be answered by calling the FDOT project manager Tim Horst at (863) 519-2499. FDOT is sending a notice to all property owners and tenants within at least 300 feet on either side of the project and to other public officials, regulatory agencies, organizations, and individuals interested in the project. This hearing is conducted in accordance with Rule 14/97. The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable Federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried out by FDOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. §327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated May 26, 2022 and executed by FHWA and FDOT.
