PURPOSE:

The purpose of this rule development notice is to address potential rule amendments for stone crab, as the Commission is considering modifying the requirements for the escape ring location in plastic and wood stone crab traps.  The effect of these rule amendments would be to revise the definition of an escape ring and change the location requirement for escape rings in plastic and wood stone crab traps.
