	The Florida Department of Transportation, District One announces a workshop to which all persons are invited.

DATE AND TIME:	IN PERSON: Wednesday, November 8, 2023 (anytime between 5 – 7 p.m.); VIRTUAL: Thursday, November 9, 2023 (6 – 7 p.m.)

Subject:	The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) invites you to an Alternatives Public Workshop for the SR 31 Extension Project Development and Environment (PD&E) Study from SR 70 to US 17 in DeSoto County. This study will evaluate a potential new alignment for the extension of SR 31 to address traffic operations and transportation network connectivity, improve safety and enhance multi-modal mobility. The Alternatives Public Workshop is being conducted to present information about the preliminary alternatives and provides the opportunity for the public to express their views about the project. You can participate live online or in-person. The same materials will be displayed at both the online and in-person events. IN-PERSON OPTION: WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 8, 2023 Anytime between 5 -7 p.m. Turner Agri-Civic Center 2250 NE Roan Street, Arcadia, FL 34266 This will include a looping video (no formal presentation) and the project team will be available for discussion. LIVE ONLINE OPTION: Register in advance: https://tinyurl.com/SR31-AlternativeWorkshop THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 9, 2023 6 – 7 p.m. This event will include a viewing of the project video and a live question-and-answer component with the project team. If you are unable to attend the meeting, comments can also be provided through the project webpage (https://www.swflroads.com/project/431298-1) or by email (steven.andrews@dot.state.fl.us) or mail (FDOT District One, Attn: Steven A. Andrews, 801 N. Broadway Ave., Bartow, FL 33830). While comments about the project are accepted at any time, they must be received or postmarked by Monday, November 20, 2023, to be included in the formal Alternatives Public Workshop record. Questions can be answered by calling the FDOT project manager Steven A. Andrews at (863) 519-2270. A summary of the workshop will be available on the webpage approximately 30 days following the close of the comment period. FDOT is sending notices to property owners, business owners, interested persons and organizations within 300 feet of the project to provide the opportunity to give comments to FDOT regarding this project (see the attached newsletter). The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable Federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried out by FDOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. §327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated May 26, 2022 and executed by FHWA and FDOT.
