Overview



	The Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) announces a public meeting to which all persons are invited.

DATE AND TIME:	Tuesday January 16, 2024, 4:00 – 7:00 p.m., EST

PLACE:	East County Regional Library, 881 Gunnery Road N., Lehigh Acres FL 33971

Subject:	The purpose of this public meeting is to obtain public comments on the State 404 Program permit application for the proposed Kingston development in Lee County (ST404_423130). The applicant, CAM7-Sub, LLC/Cameratta Companies, LLC, applied for a State 404 permit on June. 28, 2022, to discharge dredge or fill material into “Waters of the United States” (WOTUS). The proposed project is located south of State Road 82, west of Corkscrew Regional Ecosystem Watershed, north of Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary and east of Imperial Marsh Preserve in Lee County. The proposed project area encompasses 6,676 acres and includes construction of a large mixed-use development. The proposed discharges would impact approximately 12.87 acres of wetlands deemed WOTUS. To offset impacts, the applicant will purchase 4.57 Freshwater Forested Federal Wetland Mitigation Credits from the Corkscrew Regional Mitigation Bank. Additionally, as part of this project, the applicant will create a conservation area over 3,250 acres and will perform wetland preservation and enhancement, including exotic vegetation removal and supplemental planting. A Public Notice for this project was issued on Nov. 20, 2023. During the public comment period provided in Rule 62-331.060, Florida Administrative Code (F.A.C.), any interested person may submit written comments on this State 404 permit application. The comment period will conclude at the end of the public meeting. All comments will be considered in making the final decision, as provided in Rule 62-331.060, F.A.C.
