	The Polk County Board of County Commissioners announces a public meeting to which all persons are invited.

DATE AND TIME:	Tuesday, January 9, 2024 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.; Open House format

PLACE:	Winston Academy of Engineering, 3415 Swindell Rd, Lakeland, FL 33810

Subject:	The Polk County Board of County Commissioners (BoCC) invites you to a public meeting for the CR 542A / Galloway Road North at Swindell Road Alignment Study on Tuesday, January 9, 2024. The purpose of this study is to examine existing and projected traffic and crash data, and to identify viable roadway concepts that will lessen congestion, provide increased safety along the corridor, and improve overall traffic conditions. Improvements are being considered due to high crash frequency. As part of the project’s study evaluation, Polk County’s Roads and Drainage Division is seeking public input on the alignment alternatives under consideration. Project materials will be on display and project team representatives will be available to answer questions during the meeting. Polk County is sending notices to property owners within 300 feet of the project to provide the opportunity to give comments to the County regarding this project. You may submit comments in three different ways: 1) in person during the public meeting; 2) emailing comments to Bill Skelton at billskelton@polk-county.net; 3) mailing comments to Bill Skelton, Polk County Roads and Drainage Division, 3000 Sheffield Road, Winter Haven, FL 33880. Written comments are requested to be returned or postmarked by January 23, 2024. Public participation is solicited without regard to race, color, national origin, age, sex, disability or family status. Persons wishing to express their concerns relative to Polk County’s compliance with Title VI may do so by contacting the Polk County Project Management Liaison, Bill Skelton, at (863) 535-2200 or billskelton@polk-county.net at least seven (7) days prior to the meeting.
