Overview



	The Department of Transportation District 2 announces a public meeting to which all persons are invited.

DATE AND TIME:	March 5, 2024, 4:30 to 6 p.m.

Subject:	The Florida Department of Transportation invites the public to attend a meeting to discuss proposed changes to U.S. 17 in Fleming Island. Proposed changes include intersection improvements at CR 209 (Russell Road) that would replace the existing traffic signal, add directional islands in the median, add a new signal at Mahama Bluff Road, lengthen the northbound left turn lane on U.S. 17 and enhance roadway lighting. The improvements will coincide with Clay County’s CR 209 (Russell Road) widening project, which is currently in the initial construction phase. The project would also modify the existing median opening at Biovin Road and CR 209. The existing full median opening will be converted to a directional median opening allowing for southbound to eastbound turn movements from U.S. 17 to CR 209. FDOT staff and consultants will be available from 4:30 to 6 p.m. to answer questions and accept comments. A formal hearing and public comment period will begin at 6 p.m. Project documents are available for review at www.nflroads.com/VPH.
