Overview



	The Florida Department of Transportation, District One announces a public meeting to which all persons are invited.

DATE AND TIME:	Tuesday, April 9, 2024 at 6:00 p.m. (online only); Thursday, April 11, 2024, 5:30 to 7: 30 p.m. (in-person)

Subject:	The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) invites you to a public meeting for the proposed safety improvements at the intersections of SR 82 with Sunshine Boulevard, Alabama Road, Blackstone Drive/Grant Boulevard, Rue Labeau Circle, Parkdale Boulevard, Bell Boulevard and Columbus Boulevard in Lee County. The proposed interim safety improvements will prohibit left-turns from these sidestreets onto SR 82. This traffic will be required to turn right onto SR 82 and make a U-turn at one of the adjacent intersections. Long term safety improvements continue to be considered and evaluated. The public meeting is being held to present information about the proposed safety improvements and obtain input from the public. You can participate in the public meeting virtually or in-person. The same materials will be displayed at both the virtual and in-person events. The Department has three ways to participate in the public meeting: through the virtual event on April 9, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. at (https://bit.ly/48R6VCf) by attending the in-person event at Gateway Trinity Lutheran Church at 11381 Gateway Boulevard, Fort Myers, FL 33913 on April 11, 2024 from 5:30 to 7:30 pm., or by viewing the materials online through the project website https://www.swflroads.com/SR82. All meeting materials will be available on the project website from April 9, 2024 through April 26, 2024. A copy of these materials will also be displayed at the in-person meeting. You may choose any combination of the options provided to review the materials and to submit your comments. For more information on all options of the upcoming public meeting, visit the project website or contact the project manager (listed below). FDOT is sending notices to property owners, business owners, interested persons and organizations within 300-feet of the project to provide the opportunity to give comments to FDOT regarding this project. After reviewing the public meeting materials, and/or participating, you may submit comments in three different ways: 1) on the project website; 2) emailing the FDOT Project Manager, Xiaoxue (Snow) Peng at Xiaoxue.Peng@dot.state.fl.us; or 3) mailing comments to Xiaoxue (Snow) Peng at FDOT District One, P.O. Box 1249, Bartow, FL 33931-1249. While comments about the project are accepted at any time, please note that comments must be received or postmarked by April 26, 2024, to be included in the formal public meeting record. FDOT solicits public participation without regard to race, color, national origin, age, sex, religion, disability, or family status.
