PURPOSE:

The purpose of this rule change is to streamline and simplify the application process for the Agriculture Education and Promotion Facility grant program by amending the rule and associated application form to eliminate duplication of information between the statute, rule and application form.

SUMMARY:

The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS) serves as the state agency to administer Florida’s Agriculture Education and Promotion Facility grant program which aims to certify venues as agriculture and educational promotion facilities when meeting specific criteria to evaluate and rank their eligibility for funding. This funding is to be used by the facility for construction and improvements related to the promotion of agriculture in a public setting. These rule changes make no alterations to the criteria for or eligibility of establishments applying for funding.
