Overview



	The Florida Department of Transportation District One SR 45 (US 41) SR 45 (US 41) from N of SR 70 (US 19) to N of 69th St E In-Person Design Workshop announces a workshop to which all persons are invited.

DATE AND TIME:	June 4, 2024, between 5 and 7:00 p.m.

PLACE:	Manatee County Public Library, Palmetto Branch

Subject:	FDOT has identified the need for safety improvements and resurfacing for segments of SR 45 (US 41) in Palmetto, Manatee County. This project proposes permanent median modifications to reduce conflict points and improve safety at the intersections of SR 45 (US 41) with 16th Avenue E and 61st Street E (Palm View Road). The proposed safety improvements will prohibit left turns from the side streets onto US 41. The median modification is converting a full median opening to a directional median opening. Side street traffic will be required to turn right onto US 41 and make a U-Turn at one of the adjacent intersections. The pavement will be milled and resurfaced from north of US 19 to north of 69th street E/73rd St. E (Erie Road) to extend the service life of the pavement. You can participate in the SR 45 (US 41) SR 45 (US 41) from N of SR 70 (US 19) to N of 69th St E Design Workshop in-person on June 4, 2024, anytime from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Manatee County Public Library System, Palmetto Branch, 923 6th St W, Palmetto, FL 34221. The same materials will be displayed both in-person and online which will be posted by May 30, 2024, on the project webpage. After reviewing the SR 45 (US 41) SR 45 (US 41) from N of SR 70 (US 19) to N of 69th St E Design Meeting materials, and/or participating, you may submit comments in three ways: 1) through the project webpage https://www.swflroads.com/project/449114-1); 2) email the FDOT Project Manager Jeffrey Mednick at Jeffrey.Mednick@dot.state.fl.us ; or 3) mail comments to Jeffrey Mednick at FDOT District One, P.O. Box 1249, Bartow, FL 33831-1249. While comments about the project are accepted at any time, please note that comments must be received or postmarked by June 18, 2024, to be included in the formal workshop record. A summary of the workshop comments and responses will be available on the webpage approximately 30 days following the close of the comment period. FDOT is sending notices to property owners, business owners, interested persons and organizations within 300 feet of the project to provide the opportunity to give comments to FDOT regarding this project. FDOT solicits public participation without regard to race, color, national origin, age, sex, religion, disability, or family status.
