Overview



	The Florida Department of Transportation announces a workshop to which all persons are invited.

DATE AND TIME:	Monday, August 12, 2024 at 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

PLACE:	Sarasota/Manatee Metropolitan Planning Organization Office, 8100 15th Street East, Sarasota, FL 34243

Subject:	The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), District One, is holding the first round of Stakeholder Group Meetings for the Barrier Island Complete Streets Improvements Project Development and Environment (PD&E) Study, along SR 789 from north of Longboat Pass Bridge and Gulf Drive from SR 64 to White Avenue/85th Street, in Manatee County. This study will evaluate multimodal alternatives to address needs for the main north-south corridor on Anna Maria Island traversing the cities of Bradenton Beach and Holmes Beach, approximately 6 miles in length. The Stakeholder Group Meeting is being conducted to present information about the project purpose and need, existing conditions, and preliminary safety considerations that could benefit the study area. This meeting provides the opportunity for the stakeholders to express their views about the project. The Stakeholder Group is primarily comprised of appointed city and county officials and has been established to help gather community input for the study. This first meeting will be held in-person. The public may attend as observers. Please note that there is limited seating in the main room where FDOT will hold its meeting. The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable Federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried out by FDOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. §327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated May 26, 2022 and executed by FHWA and FDOT.
