PURPOSE:
The purpose of this rulemaking is to clarify and update reporting and recordkeeping requirements for the Marine Fisheries Trip Ticket Program and improve commercial saltwater fishing data collection to provide more timely information for management decisions and fishery disaster requests. The effect of these rule changes would be to move rules related to the Marine Fisheries Trip Ticket Program from Division 68E to Division 68B, F.A.C., as well as clarify and establish commercial saltwater fishing reporting and recordkeeping requirements, such as shorter reporting periods and electronic submission of reports.
SUBJECT:
The subject areas addressed in the rule development notice include definitions, reporting requirements, and recordkeeping requirements for commercial harvesters and wholesale dealers of marine organisms.
