	The Florida Departmet of Transportation, District One announces a public meeting to which all persons are invited.

DATE AND TIME:	September 17, 2024 (In-Person) 5:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. (EST), and September 19, 2024 (Virtual/Online) 5:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. (EST)

Subject:	The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) invites you to a Public Meeting for the Highlands County Feasibility Study. The study limits include CR 17 to SR 17 in Highlands County. This feasibility study evaluated the existing US 27 roadway from CR 17 to SR 17 in Highlands County. By studying available data from the surrounding region (such as regional safety, mobility, and accessibility needs, regional and .local economies, and minimizing impacts to the environment), this feasibility study concluded that further analysis is warranted to assess opportunities for improvement along US 27, and the adjacent communities. The goal of the suggested Project Development and Environment or PD&E study would be to support mobility options, minimize right-of-way impacts, enhance freight movement, ensure efficient emergency evacuation through the region and provide safe mobility for all users. This event will include a viewing of the project video and a live question-and-answer component with the project team. All meeting materials to be displayed at the in-person meeting will be posted on the project website before the virtual meeting.
