	The Florida Department of Transportation announces a workshop to which all persons are invited.

Subject:	The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is currently constructing improvements to State Road (SR) 777 (River Road) in Sarasota County. FDOT has proposed to construct an additional travel lane in each direction in the project segment from Center Road to south of I-75. Once complete, this will provide a six-lane roadway (three travel lanes in each direction, separated by a 22-foot median) for the entire project limits from north of US 41 to south of I-75. A traffic noise evaluation has determined that a noise barrier in the vicinity of Caribbean Village is a potentially feasible and cost reasonable measure to reduce traffic noise at residences near River Road. Therefore, as part of the project, FDOT is considering construction of a noise barrier in the vicinity of Caribbean Village along River Road. FDOT will hold an informational workshop on September 12, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. at the Caribbean Village Community Clubhouse, 19050 Billfish Avenue, Venice, FL 34292. This meeting will be designed specifically for those Caribbean Village residents and property owners that are most affected by traffic noise and in close proximity to the potential noise barrier. There will be a brief presentation at 6:00 p.m., followed by the opportunity to ask questions regarding the proposed noise barrier. You are invited to come to this meeting, learn more about the proposed noise barrier, meet with project staff, and ask questions about the project. If you are unable to attend the in-person meeting, a virtual option will be available at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 12 also. The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable Federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried out by FDOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. §327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated May 26, 2022 and executed by FHWA and FDOT.
