Overview



	The Pasco County, in coordination with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), District Seven announces a workshop to which all persons are invited.

DATE AND TIME:	Wednesday, September 25, 2024, 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.

PLACE:	Starkey Ranch Theatre Library Cultural Center, 12118 Lake Blanche Drive, Odessa, FL 33556

Subject:	Pasco County, in coordination with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), District Seven, invites you to a public workshop regarding the Rangeland Boulevard Project Development and Environment (PD&E) Study from Cattle Gap Trail to Bexley Village Drive in Pasco County; a distance of approximately 3.4 miles. The purpose of the study is to evaluate a new roadway to improve regional mobility and connectivity to destinations and communities east and west of the Suncoast Parkway in addition to relieving traffic congestion and improving safety on State Road (SR) 54. The project is primarily needed to better facilitate regional travel by providing an alternative route to SR 54, segments and intersections of which currently experience failing Levels of Service (LOS) and have high numbers of crashes. The proposed actions include a new roadway along with bicycle lanes, a sidewalk, and a multi-use path. The proposed multi-use path would serve as part of the Orange Belt Trail, a planned 37-mile trail across Pasco County. An overpass crossing the existing Suncoast Expressway (SR 589) is also being evaluated. The workshop is being held in-person from 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at the Starkey Ranch Theatre Library Cultural Center, 12118 Lake Blanche Drive, Odessa, FL 33556. This workshop will be conducted in an open house format and will give community members an opportunity to review and comment on the potential extension of Rangeland Boulevard. There will not be a formal presentation. Pasco County staff will be available to answer your questions about the study. The workshop materials will be available for review online from Wednesday, September 25, 2024 through Wednesday October 16, 2024, at www.mypasco.net/rangeland. After reviewing the meeting materials, you can submit any comments that you may have regarding the project to the Project Manager, Panos Kontses, P.E., in three ways: 1. Submit written comments at the in-person workshop; 2. Email the Project Manager, Panos Kontses, P.E., at pkontses@mypasco.net; or 3. Mail comments to Pasco County, Attn: Panos Kontses, P.E., Project Manager, 5418 Sunset Road, New Port Richey, FL 34652. While comments about the project are accepted at any time, please note that comments received or postmarked by Wednesday, October 16, 2024 will be included in the workshop record. Pasco County has mailed public workshop notifications to all property owners, tenants, business owners, interested persons and organizations located within 300 feet of the project to provide the opportunity to give comments to Pasco County regarding this project. Pasco County welcomes and appreciates the community’s participation in the project. Pasco County is completing the PD&E Study with the intention of pursuing Federal funding. The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable Federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried out by FDOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. § 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated May 26, 2022 and executed by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and FDOT.
