Overview



	The Florida Department of Transportation, District 2 announces a hearing to which all persons are invited.

DATE AND TIME:	November 4, 2024; Open House: 4:30 to 6:30 pm, Presentation & Public Comment Period: 6:30 pm

PLACE:	Hilton Garden Inn Jacksonville Airport, Meeting Room: Concourse A & B, 13503 Ranch Road, Jacksonville, FL 32218

Subject:	The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District Two invites you to the US 17 (SR 5/Main Street) Subsequent Public Hearing (Financial Management No. 209411-8) to discuss the proposed improvements for US 17 from south of New Berlin Road to Airport Center Drive in Dual County, Florida. This Subsequent In-Person Public Hearing was rescheduled from September 26, 2024, to November 4, 2024, due to inclement weather associated with Hurricane Helene. The purpose of the Subsequent Public Hearing is to discuss the changes that have taken place to US 17 during the Design Phase and provide an opportunity for the public to express their opinions and concerns regarding the location, conceptual design, social, economic, and environmental effects of the proposed improvements. The project proposes to widen US 17 to improve traffic operations and enhance safety by providing pedestrian facilities. As of September 3, 2024, draft project documents and other information are available for public review at the Highlands Regional Library, located at 1826 Dunn Avenue, Jacksonville, Florida 32204, and at the FDOT District Two - Jacksonville Urban Office, located at 2198 Edison Avenue, Jacksonville, FL 32204, as well as on the project website at www.nflroads.com/US17. The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried-out by the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) pursuant to 12 U.S.C. § 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated May 26, 2022, and executed by the Federal Highway Administration and FDOT. Public participation is solicited without regard to race, color, national origin, age, sex, religion, disability, or family status. Persons who require special accommodations under the Americans with Disabilities Act or persons who require translation services (free of charge) should contact Michael A.
