Overview



	The The Florida Department of Transportation, District Seven announces a hearing to which all persons are invited.

DATE AND TIME:	Thursday, November 14, 2024, 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.; Formal Presentation: 6:30 p.m.

PLACE:	Hillsborough Community College, Trinkle Center, 2206 E. Cherry Street, Plant City, FL 33563

Subject:	The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District Seven, in cooperation with Hillsborough County, is conducting a Project Development and Environment (PD&E) Study along McIntosh Road and Branch Forbes Road in Hillsborough County to reduce traffic congestion along with improving safety and system linkage for each project. The McIntosh Road and Branch Forbes Road studies limits are from south of US 92 to north of Interstate 4 (I-4) in Hillsborough County, a distance of approximately 1.03 miles and 0.86 miles, respectively. This public hearing is being offered in-person, with an option to attend virtually, to give interested persons an opportunity to express their views concerning the location, conceptual design, social, economic, and environmental effects of the proposed improvements. The public hearing was originally scheduled for September 26, 2024, but due to Hurricane Helene, it was rescheduled. The public hearing is being held on Thursday, November 14, 2024, at the Hillsborough Community College, Trinkle Center, 2206 E. Cherry Street, Plant City, FL 33563. Citizens who choose to attend the virtual hearing session must do so through a computer, tablet, or smartphone via GoToWebinar (a call-in number will not be available). Virtual attendees must register online at either project website: www.fdotd7studies.com/projects/mcintosh-rd-us92-to-i4/public-involvement/public-meetings/ or www.fdotd7studies.com/projects/branch-forbes-road-us92-to-i4/public-involvement/public-meetings/. At 5:30 p.m., the public hearing begins with an informal open house, where the public can view the preferred alternative plans on aerial photographs, ask questions, and provide comments to FDOT representatives. The formal public hearing begins at 6:30 p.m. with the formal public comment period for those who want to make a formal public comment. Following the formal portion, the informal open house will resume until 7:30 p.m. Persons wishing to submit statements in place of or in addition to oral statements may do so at the public hearing; by sending them to Florida Department of Transportation District Seven, Attn: Kirk Bogen, P.E., Environmental Management Engineer, 11201 N. McKinley Drive, MS 7-500, Tampa, FL 33612; or by providing them on the “Send Us Your Comments” page on the project websites above. All exhibits or statements postmarked on or before November 25, 2024, will become part of the official public hearing record. Draft project documents will be available for review from September 5, 2024, to November 25, 2024, at: • Seffner-Mango Branch Library, 410 N. Kingsway Road, Seffner, FL 33584 – Library hours are from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday. • Florida Department of Transportation, District Seven, 11201 N. McKinley Drive, Tampa, FL 33612. Hours are from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. The design concepts, display boards, and video presentation for the public hearing will be available for review online prior to the public hearing, at www.fdotd7studies.com/projects/mcintosh-rd-us92-to-i4/ and www.fdotd7studies.com/projects/branch-forbes-road-us92-to-i4/. Public participation is solicited without regard to race, color, national origin, age, sex, religion, disability, or family status. The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried out by the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) pursuant to 23 U.S.C. § 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated May 26, 2022, and executed by the Federal Highway Administration and FDOT.
