Overview



	The South Florida Water Management District announces a public meeting to which all persons are invited.

DATE AND TIME:	Thursday, November 14, 2024, 9:00 AM Governing Board Monthly Meeting and Attorney-Client Session

PLACE:	John Boy Auditorium,1200 W.C. Owen Avenue, Clewiston, FL 33440. For the Governing Board monthly meeting, members of the public may participate and provide public comment in person.

Subject:	The Governing Board of the South Florida Water Management District will discuss and consider District business, including regulatory and non-regulatory matters. The public and stakeholders will have an opportunity to comment on the Governing Board monthly meeting by attending in person. The approximate duration of the Attorney-Client Session referenced below is 60 minutes. The Governing Board may take official action at the Governing Board monthly meeting on any item appearing on the agenda and on any item that is added to the agenda as a result of a change to the agenda approved by the presiding officer of the meeting pursuant to Section 120.525, Florida Statutes. Contemporaneous with the Governing Board monthly meeting, there will be an Attorney-Client Session pursuant to Section 286.011(8), Florida Statutes, to discuss strategy related to litigation expenditures or settlement negotiations in Be a Man Buy Land, LLC v. South Florida Water Management District, et al., 19th Judicial Circuit in and for Martin County, Florida, Case No. 2023-CA-00052. This is a suit for declaratory relief, injunctive relief, and inverse condemnation. ATTENDEES: Governing Board Members: C. Goss, S. Wagner, R. Bergeron, B. Butler, C. Martinez, C. Meads, C. Roman, and J. Steinle; Executive Director D. Bartlett, General Counsel M.R. Fincher; District Attorney J. Levine, and the court reporter. Pursuant to Florida law, the entire Attorney-Client Session shall be recorded by a certified court reporter. No portion of the session shall be off the record. A copy of the transcript will be made part of the District’s public record after the litigation has concluded. Based on the discussion during the Attorney-Client Session, the Governing Board may take official action during the Governing Board monthly meeting upon conclusion of the Attorney-Client Session. Members of the public will have an opportunity to provide public comment prior to official action of the Governing Board relating to the Attorney-Client Session.
