	The Florida Department of Transportation, District One announces a public meeting to which all persons are invited.

DATE AND TIME:	Thursday, February 13, 2025. The in-person public meeting (open house format) will begin at 5:00 p.m. and end at 7:00 p.m. The virtual meeting will begin at 6:00 p.m. and end at 7:00 p.m.

Subject:	The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), District One, invites you to the State Road (SR) 776 Safety Improvements Public Meeting on Thursday, February 13, 2025. The in-person public meeting (open house format) will begin at 5:00 p.m. The virtual meeting will begin at 6:00 p.m. FDOT, District One, is proposing improvements at multiple intersections along SR 776 in Charlotte County. The purpose of the improvements is to improve safety, enhance traffic flow, and reduce crashes. The proposed improvements include converting existing full median openings to two-way directional median openings at seven (7) intersections along the corridor: Oceanspray Boulevard, Sea Mist Drive/Shalimar Street, David Boulevard, Hollis Avenue, Cornelius Boulevard, Biscayne Drive, and Collingswood Boulevard. Potential median modifications are also being considered at three (3) additional intersections: Mayport Street/Biggs Street, Regina Drive/Roberta Drive, and at the Port Charlotte Town Center west entrance. This public meeting is being held to present information about the proposed design and gather public input. FDOT will accept written comments during and after the meeting. Comments submitted after the meeting may be sent to Jeremy Stucker, Florida Department of Transportation, 801 N. Broadway Avenue, Bartow, FL 33830, or emailed to Jeremy.Stucker@dot.state.fl.us. The Department has three ways to participate in the public meeting: by attending the live in-person event from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church of Southwest Florida, 1379 S. McCall Road, Port Charlotte, FL 33981; online through the live virtual event from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. by registering at fdot.cc/SR_776_Improvements_Registration; or by viewing the materials online through the project website at swflroads.com/project/000008-1. All meeting materials will be available online by February 6, 2025. A copy of these materials will also be displayed at the in-person event. You may choose any combination of the options provided to review the materials and to submit your comments. For more information on all options to attend the upcoming public meeting, visit the project website or contact the project representative (listed below). FDOT is sending notices to all property owners and tenants within at least 300 feet on either side of the project and to public officials, regulatory agencies, organizations, and individuals interested in the project. FDOT encourages all interested people to attend and express their views regarding the project and information presented. While comments about the project are accepted at any time, please send your comments by February 24, 2025, to be included in the formal public meeting record. This meeting has been developed in compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and related statutes. Public participation is solicited without regard to race, color, national origin, age, sex, religion, disability, or family status.
