Overview



	The City of Sarasota announces a public meeting to which all persons are invited.

DATE AND TIME:	Wednesday, March 5, 2025 at 5:30 p.m.

PLACE:	The Harvest Sarasota, 3650 17th St, Sarasota, FL 34235

Subject:	The City of Sarasota will host one Public Meeting for the Circus Trail Extension: Circus Boulevard to 17th Street Park Project Development & Environment (PD&E) Study and 30% Design. The alignment is planned to run along the east side of Circus Boulevard, approximately 1,250 feet south of Bobby Jones Golf Club (BJGC). It would continue through BJGC to the east/northeast for about 3,900 feet and end in the northeast corner of BJGC. The 17th Street Park, owned by the County, provides a safe, alternative route for pedestrians, bicyclists, and micro-mobility users to reach essential services and amenities. The trail alignment may be adjusted in certain areas to avoid impacting natural, social, cultural, and physical features. The Public Meeting, which is free and in-person, will be held on Wednesday, March 5, 2025 starting at 5:30 p.m. A brief presentation providing an overview of the Project will begin at 5:45 p.m., followed by an Open House where the public can interact and ask questions of the project team. The meeting venue is The Harvest Sarasota, 3650 17th St, Sarasota, FL 34235. Registration is not required. The Public Meeting materials will be available on the project website starting at 8 a.m., Wednesday, February 26, 2025 at https://www.sarasotafl.gov/circustrailextension. The public comment period will begin on Wednesday, February 26, 2025 and remain open through Wednesday March 19, 2025. Public comments may be submitted by the following methods: 1. By obtaining a printed public comment form available at the meeting location that can be submitted by mail, email, or deposited into a comment box at the meeting location; or 2. By obtaining a printed public comment form available at Sarasota City Hall that can be submitted by mail, email, or deposited into a comment box at the Sarasota City Hall Annex Building on the First Floor adjacent to the elevators. Comment forms postmarked on March 19, 2025 will be accepted. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 5, 2025. Please provide adequate time to arrive at the event to view the study materials in its entirety. There will be an opportunity to provide input via public comment forms at the meeting. This Public Meeting has been advertised consistent with federal and state requirements and developed in compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and related statutes. The City of Sarasota solicits public participation without regard to race, color, national origin, age, sex, religion, disability or family status.
