	The Florida Department of Transportation, District One announces a hearing to which all persons are invited.

DATE AND TIME:	Tuesday, April 29, 2025, VIRTUAL start at 5:45 p.m., IN PERSON starts at 5 p.m.

Subject:	The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) invites you to a public hearing for the SR 29 Improvements Project Development & Environment (PD&E) Re-Evaluation (FPID 417878-8) from County Road (CR) 80A (Cowboy Way to north of CR 731 (Whidden Road) in Hendry and Glades Counties. Participate in the April 29 hearing in-person or online. Both events will provide the opportunity to view the project video and provide formal comment. In-Person Option: at LaBelle Civic Center, 481 Hickpochee Ave., LaBelle, FL 33935, Anytime between 5 – 6 p.m. Open house 6 p.m. Formal presentation and comment Displays will be available starting at 5 p.m. to review at your own pace and the formal presentation will begin at 6 p.m. The project team will be available for discussion. Live Online Option: starting at 5:45 p.m. at https://tinyurl.com/SR29PublicHearing (please register in advance) Materials will be posted by April 22 on the project webpage. This event will include a livestream of the in-person presentation and the formal comment portion. Please review the materials on project webpage before attending the virtual event (https://www.swflroads.com/project/417878-8). Materials will be posted by April 22. This hearing is being conducted to present the preferred alternative and all analysis to date, as well as to give interested persons an opportunity to express their views concerning the location, conceptual design, and social, economic, and environmental effects of the proposed improvements. Project documents will be available for public viewing from April 8 to May 9, 2025, at Barron Library, 461 North Main Street, LaBelle, FL 33935 and FDOT District One, Southwest Area Office, 10041 Daniels Parkway, Fort Myers, FL 33913. They will also be available on the project webpage. If you are unable to attend the hearing, comments can also be provided through the project webpage (https://www.swflroads.com/project/417878-8 or by email (David.Agacinski@dot.state.fl.us) or mail (FDOT District One, Southwest Area Office Attn: David Agacinski, 10041 Daniels Parkway, Fort Myers, FL 33913). While comments about the project are accepted at any time, they must be received or postmarked by May 9, to be included in the formal hearing record. All comments are weighted equally. Questions can be answered by calling the FDOT project manager David Agacinski at (239) 225-1924. Three resources identified within the project limits are Section 4(f) protected properties under 23 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) 774.17. Since the SR 29 PD&E Study Re-evaluation proposes minor impacts to and/or acquisition from these 4(f) protected properties, FDOT intends to pursue an Exception/Exemption Section 4(f) determination for these resources and is asking for the public’s input on the proposed impacts. FDOT is sending a notice to all property owners and tenants within at least 300 feet on either side of the project and to other public officials, regulatory agencies, organizations, and individuals interested in the project. The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable Federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried out by FDOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. §327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated May 26, 2022 and executed by FHWA and FDOT.
