Florida Building Code Adopted

PURPOSE:

Senate Bill 1526 (2024), House Bill 267 (2024), House Bill 535 (2024), and House Bill 1021 (2024) made changes to statutory provisions which are included in or addressed by the Florida Building Code. Additionally, changes to federal regulations pertaining to the use of certain refrigerants require the Florida Building Commission to update the relevant refrigeration safety standard, ASHRAE-15, to its latest edition in order to facilitate the installation of those systems. In order to reflect these changes, the Commission must amend the Code.

SUMMARY:

The proposed amendments will incorporate various statutory provisions into the Florida Building Code and update a reference safety standard relating to refrigeration systems.
