Overview



	The Hillsborough County Public Works announces a hearing to which all persons are invited.

DATE AND TIME:	Tuesday, June 17, 2025; Open House: 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.; Formal Presentation: 6:30 p.m., followed by a public comment period.

PLACE:	Northdale Recreation Center, 15510 Hooting Owls Place, Tampa, FL 33624

Subject:	Hillsborough County, in coordination with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), District Seven, is conducting a Project Development and Environment (PD&E) study along Van Dyke Road from Gunn Highway to east of Whirley Road in Hillsborough County, a distance of approximately 3.47 miles. The study is being conducted to evaluate alternative roadway improvements along the corridor, including a project mitigation site, the Cee Bee Mitigation Site, located west of the project corridor. The public hearing is being held on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at the Northdale Recreation Center, 15510 Hooting Owls Place, Tampa, FL 33624. The hearing will begin as an open house at 5:30 p.m. with a formal presentation at 6:30 p.m., followed by a public comment period. A continuous video presentation will be shown to provide general information about the existing conditions, recommended improvements, and the PD&E process. This hearing also serves as an opportunity for public comments on the Section 4(f) de minimis impacts to Lake Park. The public hearing is being conducted in-person with an option to attend virtually to present information to and receive public input from interested persons regarding the proposed improvements to Van Dyke Road. Persons who choose to attend the virtual hearing session must do so through a computer, tablet, or smartphone via Webex (a call-in number will not be available). The virtual public hearing will be conducted at the project website at https://publicinput.com/vandykestudy. Beginning at 5:30 p.m., the public hearing begins with an informal open house, where the public can view the draft project concept plans, ask questions, and provide comments to Hillsborough County Public Works representatives. The formal public hearing begins at 6:30 p.m. with the public comment period for those who wish to make a formal public comment. Following the formal presentation, the informal open house will resume until 7:30 p.m. A court reporter will be available to receive comments in a one-on-one setting at the in-person session. Persons wishing to submit statements or other exhibits, in place of or in addition to oral statements, may do so at the hearing or by sending them to Amanda Sotomayor, P.E., Project Manager, Hillsborough County, 601 E. Kennedy Blvd, Tampa, FL 33602 or provide them on the “Send us your comments” page on the project website at https://publicinput.com/vandykestudy. All exhibits or statements postmarked on or before June 27, 2025, will become part of the official public hearing record. Draft project documents will be available on the project website at https://publicinput.com/vandykestudy, and hard copies will be available for public viewing from May 27, 2025, to June 27, 2025, at the following locations: • Jimmie B. Bearss Ave, Tampa, FL 33618 – Library hours are from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Friday and Saturday. • Hillsborough County Center Lobby, 601 E. Kennedy Blvd., Tampa, FL 33602 - hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. The design concepts, display boards, and video presentation from the in-person session will be available for review online starting on June 10, 2025, at https://publicinput.com/vandykestudy.
