Overview



	The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) announces a public meeting to which all persons are invited.

DATE AND TIME:	Thursday, October 30, 2025, from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.

PLACE:	In-Person at Cape Canaveral Community Center and virtually on CFLRoads.com

Subject:	The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will hold a project open house regarding proposed improvements on State Road (S.R.) A1A from S.R. 520 to George King Boulevard (FPID No.: 452688-1) and S.R. 528/S.R. 524 (Beachline Expressway) from west of Sykes Creek to S.R. 401 (FPID No.: 452685-1) in Brevard County. In addition to resurfacing these two segments of roadway, the project proposes pedestrian safety improvements on S.R. A1A, including a new signalized crossing at Taylor Avenue (FPID No.: 452688-2). This crossing will feature an overhead pedestrian-activated signal known as a Pedestrian Hybrid Beacon (PHB). Another potential safety improvement that may be included is the installation of new guardrail to close existing gaps at select locations along S.R. 528/S.R. 524 from east of U.S. 1 to George King Boulevard. Additional details are available in the attached project information handouts. The open house is an opportunity for the community to learn about the project plans and provide feedback. The in-person open house will be held at the City of Cape Canaveral Community Center, 7920 Orange Avenue, Cape Canaveral, FL 32920. Attendees will be able to view a looping presentation and project displays, speak with project team members, and submit comments or questions. To provide additional flexibility for stakeholders, the FDOT is also offering online opportunities to get involved: • Join an online webinar at 5:30 p.m. to watch a project presentation and submit written questions or comments using the webinar questions box. Project materials will be available beginning Thursday, October 30, and will be the same as what will be shared at the in-person open house. While the information will remain on the website throughout the project, please provide comments or questions by November 10 to have the comments included in the open house record. If you are unable to attend the open house or participate online, you may contact the FDOT project manager directly at the phone number listed below. FDOT is seeking feedback from nearby property owners, business owners, interested persons, organizations, and the general public about this project and the proposed improvements.
