RULE:

6M-4.400

Required Parent Copayment

PURPOSE:

To update criteria for assessing a School Readiness (SR) parent copayment for initial and subsequent eligibility determinations to align with updated state statutory requirements per House Bill 1255 and clarify the process for transferring SR services when there is an outstanding parent copayment.

SUMMARY:

The proposed rule requires early learning coalitions to implement a sliding fee scale for the School Readiness program that is established by the Department of Education and limits parent copayments for 
School Readiness to no more than 7% of a family’s income. The rule also requires coalitions to submit their copayment waiver policies to the Department and to post those policies and their sliding fee scales.
