Project Scoring Criteria

PURPOSE:

The Department of Environmental Protection proposes amending this rule chapter to update certain project scoring criteria and point values that became inaccurate when legislative amendments to Section 380.093(5)(g), F.S., took effect on July 1, 2025. These amendments will maintain regulatory consistency between Chapter 62S-8, F.A.C., and Section 380.093, F.S., as well as provide specific scoring consideration for the degree to which projects proposed for Resilient Florida Program funding reduce the flood risk, and thereby increase the credits awarded, to communities participating in the National Flood Insurance Program’s Community Rating System.

SUMMARY:

These proposed rule amendments include updates to certain project scoring criteria and point values required to maintain consistency with Section 380.093(5)(g), F.S., as amended by Chapter 2025-201, Laws of Florida, on July 1, 2025.
