	The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) announces a hearing to which all persons are invited.

DATE AND TIME:	Thursday, Nov. 13, 2025, from 5:30 to 6:30 (CST)

Subject:	The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will hold a Hybrid Public Hearing concerning the U.S. 98 Project Development and Environment (PD&E) Study from CR 30A near Sandestin to west of Phillips Inlet Bridge in Walton County. This information will provide interested persons an opportunity to review the results of the study and provide comments concerning the proposed improvements. This study evaluated adding capacity on U.S. 98 by widening the roadway from four to six lanes from C.R. 30A near Sandestin to west of Phillips Inlet Bridge in Walton County. U.S. 98 is a critical east/west roadway and serves as a hurricane evacuation route. The total distance of this study is 19.4 miles. Interchanges concepts are being evaluated at U.S. 98 and U.S. 331. Pre-registration is required for the virtual format and encouraged for in-person attendees. Participants are asked to register at the following link: www.nwflroads.com/calendar. The same materials will be presented for each format. Maps, drawings, and other information are available for review beginning at noon (CDT), Thursday, Oct. 16, online at www.nwflroads.com/calendar and on-location from Thursday, Oct. 16 through Sunday, Nov. 23, at the Walton County Coastal Branch Library located at 437 Greenway Trail, Santa Rosa Beach FL 32459. The project materials may also be viewed by contacting the FDOT Project Manager using the information provided below. In accordance with Section 4(f) of the Department of Transportation Act 1966, FDOT is seeking comments concerning the effects of the project on activities, features, and attributes of Point Washington State Forest. FDOT representatives are available to discuss the proposed improvements, answer questions, and receive comments. The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable federal environmental laws for these projects are being, or have been, carried out by FDOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated May 26, 2022, and executed by the Federal Highway Administration and FDOT.
