Overview



	The Florida Department of Transportation announces a public meeting to which all persons are invited.

DATE AND TIME:	January 12, 2026, 5:30 p.m.

PLACE:	In-Person at Travis Park Community Center and virtually on GoToWebinar

Subject:	The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will hold a public information open house regarding the Project Development and Environment (PD&E) Study for Clearlake Road (State Road (S.R.) 501) from Michigan Avenue to Industry Road (FPID no. 433605-1). The purpose of this study is to evaluate the widening of the existing two-lane roadway to a four-lane divided urban roadway with transportation for all users, improvements including continuous bicycle and pedestrian facilities and the construction of a new roundabout, while minimizing potential impacts to the natural and human environments. The open house is being held to give the community an opportunity to learn about the study and provide feedback concerning the location, conceptual design, and social, economic, and environmental effects of the proposed improvements. The in-person open house will be held at the Travis Park Community Center, 2001 Michigan Avenue, Cocoa, FL 32922 on Monday, January 12, 2026. Attendees will have an opportunity to view a looping presentation and project displays, speak with project team members, and submit comments or questions. To provide additional flexibility for stakeholders, FDOT is also offering online opportunities to get involved: • Join the online webinar at 5:30 p.m. to watch the project presentation and provide written questions or comments using the questions box. Please make sure to provide adequate time to log in to view the presentation in its entirety. • Visit the project website at your convenience at https://www.cflroads.com/project/433605-1. Visitors to the page may watch a pre-recorded meeting presentation, view meeting materials, and submit comments and questions directly to the project manager. Project materials will be available beginning Wednesday, August 20th and will be the same as what will be shared at the in-person open house. While the information will remain on the website throughout the project, please provide comments or questions by Thursday, January 22, 2026, to have them included in the open house record. If you are unable to attend the open house or participate online, you may contact FDOT Project Manager directly at the phone number listed below. FDOT is sending notices to nearby property owners, business owners, and tenants located within at least 300 feet on either side of the proposed alignment and to interested persons, organizations, and the general public to provide the opportunity to offer feedback regarding the project and the proposed improvements. While comments about the project are accepted at any time, persons wishing to submit written statements, in place of or in addition to oral statements, may do so at the meeting or by sending them to the FDOT Project Manager at the contact information provided below. All statements postmarked on or before Thursday, January 22, 2026, will be included in the open house record. Public participation is solicited without regard to race, color, national origin, age, sex, religion, disability, or family status. Persons wishing to express their concerns relative to FDOT compliance with Title VI may do so by contacting Melissa McKinney, FDOT District Five Title VI Coordinator, at Melissa.McKinney@dot.state.fl.us.
