Overview



	The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) announces a public meeting to which all persons are invited.

DATE AND TIME:	Wednesday, February 18, 2026, from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.

PLACE:	In-Person at the E.L. Puryear Building

Subject:	The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will hold an open house to update the community on plans to realign a portion of State Road (S.R.) 50 from Villa City Road (County Road (C.R.) 565) to Second Avenue around the City of Groveland (FPID No.: 427056-1) and to build a segment of the South Lake Trail along S.R. 50 from Second Avenue to Silver Eagle Road (FPID No.: 422570-3). The purpose of the S.R. 50 realignment project is to help reduce heavy truck traffic in the downtown Groveland area. Project 422570-3 is the South Lake Trail Phase IIIB, a new 1.8-mile-long section of multi-use trail that is part of the Coast-to-Coast Trail system. The information session will be held in person at the E.L. Puryear Building, 243 S Lake Ave., Groveland, FL 34736. Attendees will be able to view a looping presentation and project displays, speak with project team members, and submit comments or questions. Those who cannot attend in person may visit the project web pages at any time at www.cflroads.com/project/427056-1 and www.cflroads.com/project/422570-3. Visitors to the pages may watch the project presentation, view project exhibits, and submit comments and questions directly to the project manager. Project materials will be available beginning Wednesday, February 18, and will be the same as what will be shared at the information session. While the information will remain on the website throughout the project, please provide comments or questions by March 1, 2026, to have the comments included in the open house record. If you are unable to attend the information session, you may contact the FDOT project manager directly at the phone number listed below. FDOT is seeking feedback from nearby property owners, business owners, interested persons, organizations, and the general public about this project and the proposed improvements. Public participation is solicited without regard to race, color, national origin, age, sex, religion, disability, or family status.
