PURPOSE:

The purpose of this rulemaking is to update freshwater commercial fisheries in the state by creating a new rule chapter (68A-33) that establishes reporting and recordkeeping requirements for commercial harvesters through a trip ticket program.  The effect of the proposed rulemaking will be to modernize regulations and improve the collection of commercial freshwater fishing data for fisheries management.
