WAIVER ENROLLMENT FOR CHILDREN IN THE CHILD WELFARE SYSTEM

PURPOSE:

During the 2006 legislative session (Ch. 2006-227, Laws of Florida), Section 393.065, Florida Statutes, was amended to direct the Agency for Persons with Disabilities to place children with developmental disabilities who are in the child welfare system at the top of the waitlist for Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) Medicaid waiver after persons deemed to be in a crisis status who shall have the highest priority. The purpose of the proposed rule development is, therefore, to provide a procedure and criteria for enrolling such children on a HCBS waiver.

SUBJECT:

Enrollment of children in the child welfare system on the Florida Supported Living or Developmental Disabilities Home and Community-Based Medicaid waivers.
