PURPOSE:

The purpose of this rule amendment is to ensure that all Doppler radar speed measuring devices have been approved by the Federal Communications Commission and recognized by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The effect will be to provide greater consistency in speed measuring devices, aiding both the Florida Highway Patrol and the public at large.
