Overview



	The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) announces a workshop to which all persons are invited.

DATE AND TIME:	The Public Workshop will be held in-person and virtually on the same day. The virtual workshop will be held on Wednesday, July 22, 2026 from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. The virtual workshop will include a formal presentation followed by a question-and-answer period. Comments and questions will be answered in the order received. The in-person workshop will be held on Wednesday, July 22, 2026 from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The workshop will feature the same formal presentation as the virtual workshop, followed by a question-and-answer period. Attendees may continue to view project materials and speak with staff members after the formal presentation concludes. The same information will be presented at both the in-person and virtual Public Workshop, so attending both is not necessary.

Subject:	The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District Four will hold an in-person and virtual Public Workshop to present information and gather feedback from the public concerning the Feasibility Study for State Road (S.R.) 823/Flamingo Road from NW 202nd Street to the New River Greenway. The project identification number is 454486-1-12-01. The proposed improvements under evaluation on Flamingo Road from NW 202nd Street at the Miami-Dade/ Broward County line to the New River Greenway north of I-595 include the addition of a 12-foot-wide shared-use path to connect a critical gap in Florida’s Shared-Use Non-Motorized (SUN) Trail Network. The project will enhance the community by improving safety for pedestrians and bicyclists on the corridor and enhancing multimodal connectivity between neighborhoods, parks, schools, and commercial areas. Community feedback is at the core of all we do. FDOT works with the public to balance their community vision with the community's transportation needs. This is routine on all our projects to ensure Florida's infrastructure is safe, resilient, and efficient for many years into the future. Notices are being sent to all property owners and tenants located within at least 300 feet on either side of the proposed alignment and to other public officials, regulatory agencies, organizations, and individuals that have expressed interest in the project. Public participation is solicited without regard to race, color, national origin, age, sex, religion, disability, or family status. You do not need to be in attendance at the Public Workshop to leave a comment. Comments about the project are accepted at any time in writing or by emailing the FDOT project manager at the contact information at the end of this notice. Comments must be received or postmarked by July 31st, 2026, to be included in the formal workshop record.
