RULE:

64B5-16.001	Definitions of Remediable Tasks and Supervision Levels
64B5-16.006	Remediable Tasks Delegable to a Dental Hygienist
64B5-16.0061	Delegation of Remediable Restorative Functions to Dental Hygienists; Supervision Level; and Training and Experience Requirements

PURPOSE:

For 64B5-16.001 - The Board proposes rule language that would give general supervision via a tele-dentistry platform.  It also clarifies that in a Health Access Setting, dentist examinations conducted after a dental hygienist performs remedial tasks set forth in s. 466.024(2)(f), F.S., must be performed within a different time frame than when the task is performed in a private setting.   For 64B5-16.006 – The Board proposes the rule amendment to change the level of supervision for hygienists who temporarily cement crowns and bridges and conduct oral cancer screening from direct to general supervision.  For 64B5-16.0061 - Board proposes the rule amendment reallocate the hours in the mandatory training courses for Dental Hygienists who perform certain remediable restorative functions.

SUMMARY:

To update and clarify language and definitions.
