61K1-1.001

Purpose, Applicability and Scope of Rules (Repealed)

PURPOSE:

This technical change to Rule 61K1-1.001, F.A.C., updates the rule to reflect a statutory change that brings amateur boxing within the regulatory scope of the Florida State Boxing Commission as required by Section 548.006, Florida Statutes.

SUMMARY:

Paragraph 61K1-1.001(2)(a), F.A.C., exempts amateur boxing and kickboxing from the regulatory scope of the Florida State Boxing Commission. Section 548.006(4), Florida Statutes, clearly makes amateur events subject to Chapter 548, Florida Statutes as well as any rules adopted by the Florida State Boxing Commission. A repeal of paragraph 61K1-1.001(2)(a), F.A.C., will create consistency between the rules and statutes applicable to amateur boxing and kickboxing.
