Spontaneous Fetal Demise

PURPOSE:

The Agency proposes to adopt Rule 59A-3.281, F.A.C., consistent with provisions of Section 383.33625, F.S. The statute provides for adoption of rules to develop forms to be used by health care facilities to be used for notifications and elections by patients.

SUMMARY:

The proposed rule establishes procedures and a form to be used by health care facilities to provide notification to a mother of the options available for the disposition of fetal remains in the event of a spontaneous fetal demise occurring after a gestation period of less than 20 completed weeks.
