Eligibility Determination Process

PURPOSE:

The proposed rule amendment clarifies the department's time standards for determining eligibility and eligibility redetermination applicable to public assistance programs and provides for the use of a paper or web-based application to apply for public assistance. It also removes reference to the Relative Caregiver Program (RCP), as the provision has been moved to Administrative Rule 65A-4.208 as it is only pertinent to individuals who meet Temporary Cash Assistance eligibility factors.

SUMMARY:

The proposed rule amendment provides for the use of a paper or web-based application form to apply for public assistance; clarifies the department's eligibility determination and redetermination process applicable to all public assistance programs; and removes reference to the RCP.
