Copying Services for Inmates

PURPOSE:

The purpose and effect of the proposed rule is to amend the rule to provide that inmates shall be charged for copying services related to civil or administrative legal actions. The cost of providing the copies shall be collected from any existing balance in the inmate’s bank trust fund account and a hold will be placed on the inmate’s account for unpaid costs until the debt has been paid. Form DC5-154, Copying Services Request and Withdrawal, is amended to indicate the purpose of the requested copies and specify court deadlines.

SUMMARY:

Amends the rule to provide that inmates shall be charged for copying services related to civil or administrative legal actions.
