Overview

RULE:

5C-27.001

Dogs or Cats - Intrastate Transfer of Ownership

PURPOSE:

The purpose and effect of this rule is to adopt a form for the Official Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (OCVI) required by Section 828.29, F.S., which is required to be provided by the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.

SUMMARY:

Section 828.29, F.S., mandates that an OCVI must be executed in connection with each dog or cat offered for sale in Florida. This statute sets forth the specific requirements and information for the examining veterinarian that must be included in the OCVI. This statute further provides that the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services shall supply the official intrastate certificate of veterinarian inspection form. This rule is being promulgated to adopt the OCVI as a form that the Department is required to supply.
