RULE:

PURPOSE:

Amendments to the rules will align citizenship requirements for Medicaid applicants and recipients with the federal law, the Deficit Reduction Act of 2005, Public Law 109-171 (DRA). Text has also been edited for technical deficiencies.

SUMMARY:

Proposed amendments will revise language to be consistent with federal requirements for individuals who declare to be a U.S. citizen or national. These individuals are required to provide proof of U.S. citizenship and identity, unless they meet a federal exemption.
