Overview



	The Department of Environmental Protection announces a hearing to which all persons are invited.

DATE AND TIME:	September 6, 2006 at 9:00 a.m.

PLACE:	Wellington Community Center, Grand Cypress Room City of Wellington 12165 West Forest Hill Blvd. Wellington, Florida 33414

Subject:	Administrative Law Judge David M. Maloney will hear arguments regarding issues of certification pertaining to the Florida Power & Light’s (FPL) site certification application (SCA) for the proposed West County Energy Center. The Department received the SCA on April 14, 2005. FPL proposes to ultimately construct and operate, at a site in western Palm Beach County, three natural gas fired combined cycle generating units, producing a total of 3,000 MW of electrical power. The current SCA seeks certification of two 1,250 MW units. These units will be located on approximately 220 acres adjacent to the existing FPL Corbett electrical power transmission sub-station.
