PURPOSE:

The rule specifies the department’s role in the operation of a juvenile assessment center, thus implementing Section 985.135, F.S.

SUMMARY:

The rule governs the department’s participation in the operation of juvenile assessment centers, including the design and safety of the facilities, in the admission, screening, safe keeping and release of youth, and in responding to criminal street gangs.
