PURPOSE:

The proposed rule implements Section 985.4055, F.S., establishing protective action response as the authorized verbal and physical intervention program used in department operated and contracted facilities and programs.

SUMMARY:

The proposed rule establishes the authorized levels of response, intervention techniques, standards governing the use of mechanical restraints, documentation and reporting requirements, and comprehensive training requirements for direct care employees in department operated and contracted facilities and programs.
