Performance Standards for Children Participating in the Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK) Education Program (Transferred)

PURPOSE:

The purpose of the rule amendment is to adopt the updated Florida Voluntary Prekindergarten Education Standards to include mathematical and scientific thinking in the area of mathematics. The effect will be updated standards and benchmarks based on input provided by the public as well as researchers in the field of early childhood mathematics.

SUMMARY:

This rule provides for the State Board of Education adoption of performance standards for children participating in the Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK) Education Program.
