PURPOSE:

Rule 65E-5.180, Florida Administrative Code, is being revised to comply with Section 394.457(5)(b), F.S., of the Baker Act, requiring facilities to adopt rules governing the use of seclusion and restraint.

SUBJECT:

Development of a rule to comply with the statutory requirements of Section 394.457(5)(b), F.S., of the Baker Act. The rule specifically addresses seclusion and restraint use in mental health facilities and programs.
