Specialization Requirements for the Prekindergarten Disabilities Endorsement - Academic Class

PURPOSE:

The purpose of the rule amendment is to add certification in elementary education grades K-6 as an appropriate base coverage for certification in the prekindergarten disabilities endorsement. The effect is more flexibility for certification for elementary teachers who want to serve the prekindergarten level of exceptional students.

SUMMARY:

The rule is amended to add elementary education grades K-6 as an appropriate base certification for the additional certification in the prekindergarten disabilities endorsement for teaching exceptional students at the prekindergarten level.
