Overview



	The Florida Public Service Commission will consider at its Agenda Conference, Docket No. 060590-EI, Application of Tampa Electric Company for authority to issue and sell securities pursuant to Section 366.04, Florida Statutes, and Chapter 25-8, Florida Administrative Code. The Company seeks PSC approval pursuant to Section 366.04, Florida Statutes, to issue, sell and/or exchange equity securities and issue, sell, exchange and/or assume long-term debt securities and/or to assume liabilities or obligations as guarantor, endorser, or surety in an aggregate amount not to exceed $900 million, during the twelve month period, ending December 31, 2007. The Company also seeks approval pursuant to Section 366.04, Florida Statutes, to issue, sell, exchange and/or assume short-term debt securities with the maximum amount of short-term debt outstanding at any one time being $800 million, during the twelve month period, ending December 31, 2007. Additionally, the Company seeks authority to enter into interest rates swaps or other derivative instruments related to debt securities announces a public meeting to which all persons are invited.
