Overview



	The Office of Insurance Regulation announces a public hearing to which all persons are invited.

DATE AND TIME:	February 13, 2006, First Hearing Session – 10:00 a.m.; Second Hearing Session – 6:00 p.m.

PLACE:	State of Florida, Hurston Building, 400 W. Robinson Street, South Tower (1st Floor), Orlando, Florida 32801

Subject:	American Strategic Insurance Corporation/ASI Assurance Corporation has requested a 19% average statewide rate increase for homeowners insurance in one program and an 18.6% average statewide rate increase for dwelling fire in a second program. The requested rate increases were not uniform and some areas are subject to a higher rate increase. Florida law allows the Office of Insurance Regulation to hold a public hearing for any purpose within the scope of the Insurance Code deemed to be necessary. Input from interested parties will be received at this public hearing.
