Student Performance Standards

PURPOSE:

The purpose this rule amendment is to adopt the Next Generation Sunshine State Standards in the Arts, World Languages, and to update the Next Generation Sunshine State Standards in Social Studies. The amendment also clarifies that the Next Generation Sunshine State Standards – Reading and Language Arts, 2007, and Next General Sunshine State Standards – Mathematics, 2008, remain in effect until 2013-2014 school year. The effect of the amendment is to provide clarity for existing standards and to adopt standards for upcoming school years to allow for planning by the school districts.

SUMMARY:

This rule is amended to adopt updated student performance standards and to provide clarity as to the existing standards.
