69J-2.003

Mediation Procedures for Resolution of Disputed Personal Lines Insurance Claims Arising from the 2004 and 2005 Hurricanes and Tropical Storms (Repealed)

PURPOSE:

The rule establishes a mediation program for the resolution of disputed residential insurance claims resulting from the 2004 and 2005 hurricanes and tropical storms that hit the State of Florida.

SUBJECT:

The rule requires insurers to notify residential policyholders of their right to request mediation of their disputed claims. The rule creates procedures for a notice of the right to mediation, requesting mediation, assignment of mediators, payment for mediation, scheduling mediation conferences, and the conduct of the mediation conference.
